f you want to see a winter wonderland, the best time to visit is from late December to February. Higher altitude spots like Naina Peak and Snow View Point receive the most snowfall, though light snow on the Mall Road is common during peak winter.

While you don’t need a personal permit, all outside vehicles must pay a “Mall Road Tax” or entry toll at the checkpoints (Tallital or Sukhatal). Note that heavy traffic is restricted on the Mall Road during peak season (May, June, and October) to keep the area pedestrian-friendly.

Nainital weather can be unpredictable.

The nearest railhead is Kathgodam Railway Station, located about 34 km away. From there, it takes approximately 1 to 1.5 hours to reach Nainital by taxi or bus. Popular trains like the Shatabdi Express and Ranikhet Express connect Kathgodam directly to Delhi.
